Managing Consortium Grant Applications

Some grants enable Agencies to work together to receive funding as a Consortium

When a Consortium application is allowed, the Agency members adopt a formal agreement to apply for funding as a group and divide a single allocation from the Program Office.

Consortium applications may help members meet the qualifications for area-based programming.  For smaller Agencies, participating in a consortium can help reduce the time and resources needed to prepare and submit a grant application.  Consortium applications also benefit Nonpublic schools and intermediate units that receive partial funding based on the needs of larger public schools with which they are associated.

eGrants manages consortium information in the same manner as independent Agency grant applications.  The Program Office determines if consortium applications are allowed for each grant.

One assigned member, the Consortium Lead is recorded as the Agency for the grant application.  The Consortium Lead creates the grant application and performs all the data entry on behalf of the participating members.
